We headed out of town on Monday for a little r-n-r in spite of a really bleak weather forecast. We got to spend a couple of hours at Moody Gardens in Galveston. We went back on Tuesday for most of the day. They’ve got some really cool exhibits, including a rainforest, which I really dig, and a bunch of dinosaurs. All the dinos have different names than they did when I was a kid.
After a very late lunch, we walked over to the beach for a swim. We found a spot where no one was swimming. What we didn’t know was that they had an advisory not to swim there due to high levels of bacteria. Oops!
We thought it’d be fun on Tuesday night to rent one of those Flintstone family size peddle cars to ride around the beach,but after a minute or 2, a monsoon started, catching us out on the Seawall. We were completely drenched and won’t soon forget it.
