This morning I listened to the book of Galatians read by Dan Haseltine from The Message. I was reminded how serious God is about us living unleashed, unshackled lives. There is absolutely nothing we can do to impress God, or to make Him like us more. If that were even slightly possible, then all that Jesus did would be a complete waste. We can only have a friendship with God because of what Jesus did, not what we do. So next time someone tries to make you feel like you don’t measure up to their standards, remember, you don’t have to. You just have live in the freedom you’ve been given by God.

That means we will not compare ourselves with each other as if one of us were better and another worse. We have far more interesting things to do with our lives. Each of us is an original.
