I joined the Y 2 weeks ago to get serious about exercising regularly. Once I got started, I’ve been every weekday since. My workout has generally been on the elliptical machine set to the weight loss program that switches between high and low resistance for about 30 minutes. I usually listen to my "WorkUp" playlist on the iPod or listen to a good sermon.
Yesterday, I decided to checkout the circuit training class where you do some physical activity, cardio or weights, for about 45 seconds and then take a 30 second switch break before the next activity. This is the secret behind the weight loss on "The Biggest Loser." The class is taught by a girl named Katie and the rest of the class is made up of ladies. The one I was following was an elderly woman. So, it was a little embarrassing that I was having trouble keeping up with them. I didn’t even really feel like I was doing anything or getting a good workout. Well, today, my muscles are sore, especially in my legs. They offer this on Mon, Wed, and Friday, so I’m planning on trying it again in the morning. No pain, no gain!
I don’t feel like I’m making much progress on the weight thing though, especially after all the junk food at the Super Bowl party.
