Did you hear about the guy who spiked the communion juice with dishwashing detergent? He was working at a drugstore and poured the soap into a bottle of grape juice to get back at his employers. You can check out the story here.

A lot of people are confused when it comes to communion about what it really is and does. You can check out 1 Corinthians 11:23-26 to see that it really comes down to this:

  • It’s a simple act. (v. 23)
  • It’s a reminder of Christ’s death on the cross. (v. 24)
  • It’s a symbol of Christ’s sacrifice. (v. 25)
  • It’s a statement of faith to the lost. (v. 26)

If you really want to be clean, you don’t have to drink soapy juice, you can accept what Jesus did for you on the cross. He died so you can live today and forever.

We’re planning on celebrating communion together on July 29th at all of our morning services. And I promise, it will be soap-free!
