This week, we’re pressing pause on the regular Most Valuable Player to honor a man who faithfully served God to the end of his days! Our friend and brother, Dean Miller, passed away after a lengthy battle with cancer on February 10th. Dean was a true inspiration to us all, both in his life and his death. As a greeter at The Connection Church, Dean was always standing ready at the front door with a smile, a handshake, and a sincere welcome for any and all who were coming to worship.
His wife Faye, as well as their daughter Delaina, and the whole family appreciate your continued support and prayers. They invite you to be a part of a celebration of Dean’s life and legacy this Saturday, March 1st, at the Overlook at Plum Creek Clubhouse from 2pm to 6pm. It’s a come and go event and they would love for you to stop by during this time. They’re asking that any gift you would want to give in Dean’s memory be given through The Connection Church to the Fuze Student Ministries, as Dean requested. He had a big heart for students and wanted to invest in their spiritual growth.
Dean knew how to do it right. Even as he knew his days were short, he held firmly to his trust in God’s goodness and the certainty that God had a place prepared for him in heaven because of the saving grace of Jesus Christ. He leaves behind a strong legacy that we can follow. I’m sure that Dean has already heard the Lord say, “Well done, good and faithful servant,” and if there’s a front door to heaven, he’ll have a place of service there waiting to greet us. We are so thankful for Dean Miller and will always remember him as a Legacy MVP!
Dean was such a welcoming presence when I walked through the door, and I will miss his friendly handshake and genuine smile. So glad to have known him and served with him.
