We wrapped up our short but power-packed Clash of Symbols series this week with a look at what communion is all about. So often, we do things out of memory instead of meaning, and we wanted to reexamine where the idea of the Lord’s Supper came from and how to make the most of this simple but rich celebration.

I’m so proud of our church family for generously bringing so many needed school supplies to make sure the students in the Hays school district start the year with everything they need for a successful year. We love to put feet to our faith by finding needs and meeting them to show God’s love in practical ways like this.

Our children all promoted up a grade this week, so that we got some new kiddos in the elementary KonnectionKidz, some rising 5th graders in Club 56, and some new 7th graders attending the Celebration Service and going to the FUZE 7-Up Party this week. It’s all part of our strategy to raise up godly kids who know God loves them and has a purpose for their lives.

The worship set included the Newsboys’ We Believe that really outlines the foundational beliefs that we build on. You can hear the original versions of the songs we sang on this Spotify list. It’s a great way to focus on who God is all week long!

In the message called Food for Thought, I got to talk about the 4 things you can do as you celebrate communion to make it more meaningful in your life. You can check out the message right here.
