This week we kicked off our annual summer series God on Film with a look at the new movie How to Train Your Dragon 2. I love this series because it helps us do exactly what God has called us to do as we reach out to help people connect with Jesus.

When you walked into the lobby, you were greeted with the aroma of fresh popcorn, available for free from the Connection Café. We also served free sodas to wash it all down with.

One family who was with us for the first time this week let us know about their experience and wrote, “As soon as you walk in, folks were welcoming immediately with an over-all welcome atmosphere. We were treated great from the parking lot until we left. I had never heard my daughter say anything like she said when we were leaving Sunday, ‘Hey Dad, can we come back here next week?’ That made my day!”

We were so excited to kick off our services that we actually started a few minutes early with Avicii’s Wake Me Up. The band delivered a moving version of Needtobreathe’s Difference Maker. You can hear the songs we sang in this Spotify playlist.

We celebrated the baptism of 2 people who gave their lives to Christ and went public with their faith! If you want to know more about what baptism is all about, click here.

The message was on how to be a difference maker by embracing the burden that God has placed in your heart, praying to see it happen and planning to make it happen. We looked at the leadership principles from the book of Nehemiah. You can check it out for yourself right here.
