Diana Wiley got in touch with me during 2008 to let me know about this incredible ministry she's leading in Rwanda with the widows there. She reminded me of the story of the terrible genocide that happened there where 100s of 1000s (estimates up to a million) of men were slaughtered and their wives were raped and infected with AIDS to ensure that the suffering would continue for years to come.
Diana leads True Vineyard Ministries that is working to serve the people in Rwanda and begin to rebuild the lives of those who live there. This past year, The Connection Church sent them the funds to build a house for Mukeshimana Domina and her 5 children, who had been living in her neighbor's kitchen. Not only are they building homes, but they're teaching the women to shear sheep, spin yarn, and bake bread in a solar powered oven.
As a church, we are committed to making sure people all over the world experience the love of God! I cannot imagine what it must have been like for the Rwandan people to have gone through this tragedy, but I know we can make a difference for their future by showing them God's love and His plan for their eternity!
