Weekly Rewind: First Things First

I used to think that January was sort of a low time of the year for people to check out a new church. But what we’ve found over the years is that many people are ready in the new year to find a place where they can connect with God and start to grow spiritually. This Sunday was no exception as we saw so many new faces and heard great reports of how excited people are about discovering The Connection Church.

This week we launched our new series called The Tipping Point and looked at the importance of putting First Things First in our lives and specifically in our finances. It’s been great to hear so many stories from people in our church family whose lives have been changed for the better as they’ve placed God at the center of their lives and have seen him bless them in ways they never imagined! We announced the total amount we’ve given so far through our Presence Christmas Offering. Here’s the updated number: Drum Roll Please…………. $32,954!!! All I can say is: Woot! Way to go TCC!!!

The band led us in the epic new song from Hillsong: Oceans (Where Feet May Fail). Think you’ve heard a better version? Didn’t think so! (Spoiler alert: I hear a rumor we’ll be doing that one again this Sunday.)

The high point of this week was the poignant & honest story from Stanton & Lindsay Royal about how they took a step of faith to honor God through tithing 3 years ago and what has happened in their life since. Knowing what they have gone through, this is a true story of faith and God’s faithfulness. You can check it out here. It’s a beautiful reminder that when you trust God fully, it doesn’t mean everything will be easy, but you can know that God always keeps His promises!
