I want everyone to meet our newest team member, Jennifer Martinez. Jennifer just joined our team as our Preschool Minister, leading the volunteers in our birth through Kindergarten age ministries. Jennifer and her husband Jim live in Kyle with their five kids (Tawny, Jaydan, Johnathan, Jensen, and Jacen) and, like many other people in our area, were used to getting our mailers at their house. Eventually, they were intrigued enough by the “God on Film” series and came to TCC on the first day we started GOF 2008. Little did we all know how God’s hand was already at work bringing them to us.

When I made a follow-up call to Jim, he mentioned that his wife had been on staff at Hyde Park, but I didn’t ask what area she worked in. When we stood up to announce Frances was stepping out of her position leading our Kids Ministries, they stopped by Volunteer Central to let us know that Jennifer had worked as an Assistant Preschool Director for the last 8 years, and several years before that she served as a volunteer in preschool. So after attending TCC for 2 months, Jim and Jennifer felt God leading them to take a big step into service with us.

According to her bio:

Jennifer has a genuine love for children and wants to help lay a firm foundation for their spiritual lives by teaching them at an early age to fall in love with Jesus. One of her life verses is “Train up a child in the way he should go and when he is old, he will not depart from it.” (Proverbs 22:6)

Jennifer brings with her tons of experience, enthusiasm, and vision for the growth of the Preschool Ministry. I am so pumped up about what God is about to do in that area. I know that God sends awesome people to us because He has awesome plans for us. Be sure to find Jim and Jennifer and welcome them to our family.
