Today was unbelievable! We met for the first time ever at a different place all in one big service. And not only did people find us, but we had a lot of first time guests as well. It was hard to get a solid count with everyone moving around, but we estimated around 400 people in attendance. Yes, it was a little on the warm side, but it didn’t rain!

We’re a little bit country, a whole lot rock n roll. Kevin and the band knocked it out of the park with a guest steel guitar player. The music had a definite Texas vibe today. The musical highlight was when Dan sang "Something So Big". That song is so powerful and inspiring.

We’re a real church! We had one of the most unusual "business meetings" ever as we adopted our constitution and bylaws by popping party poppers. (Warning: Don’t try this at home.) It was a huge affirmation of God’s direction for us as a church family.

Where’s the beef? When it was time for lunch, the bbq hadn’t shown up yet. I told Zak to tell everyone we’ve all decided to go vegetarian! Fortunately, Firehouse did show up with in the nick of time and the brisquet was actually pretty tasty. The dining hall was packed out, and it showed that we need a space at least that large if we hope to get everyone together in one place. I could not believe all the food everyone brought. I’ve been to a lot of "potlucks" before and I’ve never seen a spread like this.

"Eagle Eye" Pastor – Frank and Tammy Moore set up riflery and archery. I checked the riflery out and hit a target with the pellet gun on every shot, except for the one where I tried to knock off the rest of one of the targets, that took me 2 tries.

Jesus Freaks! The thing that was most incredible was all the hard work that went into the day. So many people worked so hard. TCC, you keep on blowing me away with your "whatever it takes" attitude. I especially want to thank Trey and Jennifer and Kristi who didn’t come to the celebration or ever step foot outside for the afternoon because they were working on the lunch stuff. We couldn’t have done it without ya.

Epilogue – At the end of the day, today was awesome, but this is just the beginning. While it’s been great so far, I think we’ve just gone through the prelude. We’re only getting started!
