I finally made the leap to using a WordPress blog, which is completely free! I want to give a shout-out to Zak for all his help in basically setting the whole thing up, with a little help from Kim, who is a technical genius! I hope you enjoy the new look and format. I think it rocks!

This is good chance to encourage you to Make the Connection with me by subscribing. That way, you won’t miss a single post and you will know when there’s something new instead of having to remember to check in on the site to see if there’s something fresh. Maybe the new format will nudge me to start updating more often, as I’ve been a blog slacker lately.

Here’s how you can subscribe (and it’s all free!):

1) Use a Reader. This uses something called RSS, which stands for “Real Simple Syndication” that is a feed you can follow through a reader. I use Google Reader (because Google has changed my e-life).  Some other choices are Bloglines , Newsgator which has a free app for iphone users, or you can use a built-in reader through your web browser (Internet Explorer, Firefox and Safari). If you want to subscribe, go to http://theconnectionchurch.org/coleblog/feed/

2) Use Twitter. For those of you who use twitter…you can get a “tweet” that I’ve got a new post by following me http://www.twitter.com/colephillips. Don’t know what Twitter is? You can check out this simple video here.

By using a reader or subscribing to your favorite blogs by email or twitter, you can save valuable time… which will free you up to connect and interact.

Do you subscribe to MakingTheConnection or do you manually visit the site? If you are a subscriber, do you have a favorite reader or do you prefer using email subscription?
