This was my kinda week at The Connection Church! I absolutely loved it and here’s why:

Pam opened the Celebration with a song from the new Passion project featuring Christy Nockels called You Came to My Rescue. My favorite part of the worship set, and maybe my favorite part of the whole morning was the song Come to the Water with pictures from the Go! Team trip to Guatemala. Instead of distracting from the worship, it reframed the song to give it even deeper meaning on a global scale. Jorge also delivered putting a new spin on Aloe Blacc’s hit The Man. You can listen to this Spotify list to hear the original versions.

Another close contender for best moment of the morning was the first annual TriTurbo Races where 2 racers compete on tricycles to determine who is built for speed. In each service, we had 2 racers who gave their best effort and everyone walked away with a great prize. There were no losers on Sunday.

The intro to the sermon was a movie clip from Gladiator challenging us to remember that each one of us gets to choose whether we’ll stand and fight for what matters most. Trey brought a powerful message filled with personal stories and the biblical truth that not every battle is worth fighting, but we need to fight the battles God leads us to by His power. You can watch the message here and download the notes as well.

The service closed with a sneak preview of the upcoming series God on Film starting this next weekend.

All in all, it was a day filled with greatness! I’m so proud of the way our team lays it all on the line to give people the best chance to connect with Jesus Christ!
