To say we’re still super-mega-pumped about what God did at The Connection Church this weekend is an understatement! Who would have dreamed that after all the prayer, preparation, and promotion that we would see results like these? God did exceedingly and abundantly more!!! This is just the highlight reel of a power-packed weekend.
It all kicked off with an additional worship experience on Saturday night. When that service filled up, I almost asked them all, “How many of you want to do this again next weekend?” More than likely, we’ll wait until the Fall to launch a weekly Saturday night worship service.
I’ve heard so many stories of spiritual breakthroughs that happened in lives! We had 2046 people with us in 4 worship experiences. We received 42 first time guest cards that represented whole families in some cases. But of the course, the biggest celebration is for the 67 people who gave their lives to Christ!!! That’s THE REASON Jesus gave His life on the cross!!! That is THE REASON why we do what we do!!!
All weekend long, it seemed like everywhere you looked, you could see people wearing our #welcome t-shirts for our ministry teams. They were truly the secret sauce of the weekend that took it all to the next level! Our volunteers worked their bunny tails off to create environments where people had the best possible opportunity to connect with Jesus! I am so proud of each of you who worked to show God’s love in tangible ways to our community! You ROCK!!!
Our Konnection Kidz Team went above and beyond with the kids this weekend! Next time you get a chance, look down the kidz wing and see the walls are filled with all the exciting teaching series they’ve been through. They are shaping the next generation and impacting whole families by leading kids to know God and make Him known!
When you walked into the Worship Center, you couldn’t help but be blown away by the incredible stage design put together under the leadership of our Creative Pastor Rene Rodriguez! His tireless team worked countless hours throughout the week, often deep into the night to make that happen. The drum platform was raised 6 feet in the air and the lights were at a whole ‘notha level!
If you made it in by the time the service started, you got to party with the Easter Bunny dancing along with Happy. You could tell that Frankie Mendoza’s whole heart was poured into Forever as he presented the gospel through spoken word. He left it all out there on the stage! To hear the original recordings of the songs from Sunday, click on this Spotify playlist.
Didn’t you love seeing Pastor Trey get hit over the head with a cascarones (that’s a confetti egg) by Lauren? In the last service, I heard a huge crack and thought it was his head! I assure you that no pastors were actually harmed during the welcome!
We also got to experience the story of Jesus through social media. May people have asked to see the FOLLOW video again, and you can view it right here.
The message this week was about what Jesus would have tweeted when He said: @AnyoneWho “I am the Resurrection and the Life. Anyone who believes in me will live, even after dying.” #RollingStone By the way, “anyone” actually means anyone! The Resurrection isn’t something Jesus does, it’s who He IS! This week’s message is available here.
You can see some of my favorite pictures from this week below or go to our flickr page to see pics from the services, the Easter Bunny pics, and the Buda Community Easter Egg Hunt.
