At The Connection Church, Mother’s Day is the third biggest weekend of the year after Easter and Christmas. This Sunday was no exception, with over 1300 people celebrating with us!

Konnection Kidz kicked off a new series called The Game Show with Big Questions where kids score huge points playing big team games, head-to-head challenges, and even goofy games! Along the way, they’re discovering the answers to some of the biggest questions that were asked in the Old Testament.

We welcomed Jorge Munoz back for the summer as he led out during our worship set. Aaron Simcik and Ron Johns delivered a moving tribute to moms with the Newsboys’ That Home. To listen to the original songs from our service, click on this Spotify playlist.

We also witnessed a Promposal from Pastor Trey to his wife Jen for the Throwback Prom that’s happening this Friday for all of our incredible volunteers. If you haven’t signed up, it’s not too late, just click here.

We’re partnering again with Central Texas LifeCare to raise money for moms facing crisis pregnancy needs with the Baby Bottle fundraiser and we quickly distributed all of the bottles which are to be filled and returned by Father’s Day.

For Mother’s Day, we wanted to do something big to help out a family who needs a hand up, so we paid for their rent for a month. Because of the increased generosity of our church, we were also able to honor 3 single moms each with a $200 gift card. If you want to be a part of giving to a church that gives back, you can give right here.

My beautiful wife Pam Phillips brought a powerful message, reminding us that God sees us, and that’s a great thing, because we all want to be seen and known. I am so proud that she is willing to step out and share her heart with us! To hear it for yourself, go here to watch or listen where you can also download notes and discussion questions.

We wrapped up with Parent/Child Dedication, which is a significant step in the spiritual growth of our kids and a big spiritual commitment on the part of parents. A jaw-dropping 52 children were dedicated to the Lord! They each received their own Bible and a certificate to remember this special day.

You can see for yourself some of the highlights from this week in the pics below taken by the talented Bethanie Phillips! If you want to see the rest of the shots, head on over to our flickr page.
