Doctoral_diplomaI earned my doctorate from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in May of 2004. Because I didn’t have an office at the time, the diploma sat proudly on our piano at home in it’s original paper folder. Until the next Christmas when we decorated. Then it mysteriously disappeared. I estimate that the total cost of that slip of paper was somewhere around $25,000 when you count the gas, books, tuition, etc.

This weekend was spent cleaning up the infamous Phillips’ garage. It is now a normal cluttered garage rather than one where I would have to push everything in as I tried to shut the door. As I was digging through one of the boxes of junk, what did I find but my diploma shoved in the middle of random stuff! I feel so educated now as I have it thumbtacked to my office wall. I’m hoping for a frame for my birthday this month.
