It’s been a whirlwind of a weekend with our return from Guatemala, followed by a trip to Dallas for my dad’s funeral on Saturday. A lot of the day was spent driving around Texas and the experience of burying my dad turned out to be harder than I had expected. I want to especially thank our church family for your love, support and prayers for my family through all of this!

We also want to honor and remember all of those who have served our country through the armed forces! May we never take our incredible gift of FREEDOM for granted. We know that what we have been given is preserved by those who are willing to put their lives on the line to make sure we are FREE!

On Sunday, it was exciting to have live music in KonnectionKidz through some of our talented musicians. We want every environment at The Connection Church to be the best opportunity for people, including our kids, to connect with God through Jesus Christ!

It was also extremely moving to get to see the best images from our Mission Trip shown with the powerful song “Won’t You Be My Love.” There were many teary eyes in the house along with those of Pastor Trey who seemed to get choked up each and every time. But we know our hearts are being moved when we generously give toward the mission God has called us to. Of course, you can always give online here and even setup up recurring giving. You’d be surprised at how much of a difference you can make when you automate the important!

So for me, one of the highlights of this week was hearing our band play Earth, Wind & Fire’s September with live brass. It was Off tha Chain!!! One of those experiences you just had to be there for!

This week’s message was about the truth that our souls are on a constant search until they find what they are looking for. And what they’re looking for can only be found in Jesus! You can listen to this week’s message here or on our FREE mobile app.

There may be no sound louder than absolute silence because it’s in the quiet moments that we can hear God’s voice speak to our souls. We closed each service in a very different way with no noise for a few minutes to allow God do business with us. This week, I challenge you to take 5 minutes a day of silence and solitude to spend with God alone.
