Zak was wrapping up the second service yesterday and Bryan Geiger storms the stage. My first thought: It’s random announcement time. No. It was our church doing something really nice for the Whites and the Phillips for "Pastor Appreciation". They gave us gift certificates for dinner and a movie. Mamacita’s is not just the best Tex-Mex, its THE best restaurant period. My kids ate green sauce instead of baby food. They also are giving us free babysitting for the night.
After a weekend where Pam and I tried everything we knew to do to go see a movie without success, that gift came at the right time. And I had absolutely no clue that this was going on. I can’t wait to take them up on the night out. I love our church family and I think its a huge thing for them to take this on. Its a great growth step.
I also was given the "Transformers" movie, which I haven’t seen yet and a cd of Newworldson. I saw them open for Newsboys last week and they are very funky in a white sort of way. I dig it.
I also know that there are a lot of other people on our team who need to know they’re appreciated. Zak and I are just a very small piece of the big picture of all the service and leadership happening at The Connection Church. Thanks to everyone pouring into making the dream of TCC a reality!
